Stress Management

Therapy for Stress Management

Stress is a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances. Everyone experiences stress in their lives. At times, however, our level of stress exceeds our natural ability to manage it, and it can feel unbearable. Treatment for stress management involves several components:

  • Defining the external and internal source(s) of stress with clarity and specificity
  • Identifying the impact of external and internal stress on your personal and relational wellbeing
  • Clarifying your personal coping strategies and evaluating them for effectiveness
  • Creating and executing a plan to reduce the stress in your life
  • Learning skills to better handle external stressors now and in the future
  • Learning skills to minimize internal stressors now and in the future
